Refund & Cancellation

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Version 1.9 · announced September 29, 2026 · effective October 6, 2026 · Kafka Roki. This is a faithful English rendering of our Korean Terms & Refund Policy; the Korean version prevails in case of any discrepancy.

This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for Kafka Roki (the “Studio”) production and operation services — websites, video, presentations, branding, and content — as well as for self‑service digital goods. By booking a consultation or making a payment, you agree to these terms.

01Payment & Currency

02Refund Schedule (Custom Production)

Because our deliverables are custom‑made, the portion of work already performed is non‑refundable. Refunds are determined by the stage at the time of your cancellation request:

After payment, before work begins100% full refund
After kickoff, before any draft is delivered (planning & scheduling secured)90% refund (10% withheld for preparation & scheduling)
After a draft is delivered, before the first deliverable50% refund
50% or more of production completedNon‑refundable (based on work invested). Only the remaining scope may be adjusted by mutual agreement.
After delivery / completionNon‑refundable. Defects are handled under our free‑fix warranty (2 months, where applicable).
Stage is assessed from records of drafts/deliverables sent and the amount of work invested. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. For card and international payments (PayPal, etc.), the payment‑processing fees incurred and any exchange‑rate loss are deducted from the refund. Processing typically takes 3–7 business days.

03Self‑Service Digital Goods (e.g., 3D Orb Video)

Self‑service digital products — the 3D Orb video, the digital business card, and card news images (low‑cost items generated instantly) may be cancelled and refunded before download or publishing begins. Once download or publishing is complete, the product is considered delivered, and refunds are restricted — this restriction is disclosed and agreed to at checkout, and a free preview is provided beforehand. If payment succeeded but the video was not delivered properly due to a generation error or defect, we will re‑issue it or refund you after individual review.
Chagok licence (KRW 15,000, one‑time payment, no monthly fee). Chagok (chagok.kafka-roki.com) is an app you sign in to with your Kakao or Google account; once payment clears, the licence is attached to that account immediately and carries over to any device where you sign in with the same account. Unlike the restriction above, you may get a full refund within 7 days of payment even if you have already started using it. If the licence differs from what we displayed or advertised, or is not provided as promised, you may withdraw within 30 days of becoming aware of it, and in any case within 3 months of payment. After a refund the licence is removed, but the records you entered are not deleted. Contact us by email or messenger (KakaoTalk in Korea, Telegram for overseas clients).
Where the fault is ours, you may withdraw within 7 days. Even for digital goods, if the product was not delivered properly through our fault — it failed to generate or publish, the file will not open, or it materially differs from what we displayed or advertised — you may request withdrawal (cancellation and refund) even after download or issuance is complete. The window is 7 days from the day you received the product, or 7 days from the day you discovered the defect where it was not immediately apparent. Once confirmed we issue a full refund, or re‑create the item instead if you prefer. Reach us through the order‑lookup page, email, or messenger (KakaoTalk in Korea, Telegram for overseas clients).
Works made with automated production tools. Tools that generate images, video, or copy may be used as an aid during production, but what to make, which results to keep, and how to refine them are decided by people. For self‑service products such as the 3D Orb video, the shape, colour, speed, and text are chosen by you. The right to use the resulting work is yours, and we do not sell or transfer it to anyone else without your consent. Please note, however, that works produced with such tools may not qualify for copyright registration in every country, depending on how much human authorship is recognised. We transfer usage rights but cannot warrant registrability or exclusivity. If you need trademark registration or exclusive use, tell us during the consultation and we will plan the work accordingly.
You can download again — for one year from payment. The 3D Orb video and card‑news images download immediately after payment, and the files you receive are yours to use with no time limit. If you lose them, we will re‑issue them at no extra charge. Re‑issue is available for one year from the payment date; after that our stored working data is cleared and re‑issue is no longer possible, so please keep your own copy within that year. Request a re‑issue through the order‑lookup page, email, or messenger.
Site address (domain). We do not buy a domain on your behalf or take payment for one. A subdomain of ours (yourshop.kafka-roki.com) is free of charge, so there is nothing to refund. Your own domain is registered and paid for in your name and with your payment method, so its fee is not subject to refund by us; the registrar's refund policy applies.

11If We Close Our Service

The Studio may close its service for unavoidable reasons such as ending the business. If so, we make sure you do not lose what you already have:

Version 1.9, announced September 29, 2026 and effective October 6, 2026. This revision adds the service closing clause (§11 here · §12 of the Korean terms): at least one month’s notice, no new orders from the announcement, unfinished work refunded for the undelivered part, re‑issue and hosting kept until the closing date, and free hand‑over of site files. Version 1.8 (effective September 27, 2026; previous version 1.7, effective August 25, 2026) added the shooting fee clause (§6): shooting is charged separately from travel, by shooting time (1 hour KRW 200,000 · 2 hours KRW 300,000 · 4 hours KRW 500,000), on Saturdays only for up to 4 hours; after scheduling, preparation costs are deducted on cancellation, the fee is non‑refundable once the shoot is completed, and raw files are not provided. It also lists our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) in the contact details (§11). This English page now also renders §4, §8 in full, §9 and §10 of the Korean terms; the terms themselves are unchanged. Version 1.7 (August 25, 2026) changed how the site address (domain) works: a new default option lets you use a subdomain of ours (yourshop.kafka-roki.com) at no cost, and your own domain is now registered and renewed in your name with your payment method instead of being prepaid to us and registered on your behalf (§3, §5, §8). Version 1.6 (July 30, 2026) added the clause letting you cancel a recurring service at any time and be refunded for the days you did not use (§7) and the re‑issue window for self‑service products — one year from the payment date (§5). Version 1.5 added the clause on rights and warranty scope for works made with automated production tools (§8). Version 1.4, issued the same day, added the notice on how and when services are delivered (§3) and the clause allowing withdrawal within 7 days where the fault is ours (§5). Version 1.3 (July 25, 2026) added domain prepayment (§3) and its refund rule (§5). Version 1.2 (July 14, 2026) added the under‑three‑months advance booking rule (§2) and monthly billing for recurring services (§3, §7). Version 1.1 (July 13, 2026) added the three‑month deadline and production term (§2) and the payment method for orders of KRW 5,000,000 or more (§3). Contracts made before this date follow the terms in force at that time. See also our full Terms & Refund Policy (Korean) and Privacy Policy.
